You have the option between salt and chlorine systems. Our Multi Award Winning Design Consultants at GEORGIA POOLS will walk you through both sanitization systems so you know all about the available choices and you can make the best decision for yourself and your pool.
The most commonly used chemical in swimming pools is chlorine because it does an excellent job in killing germs or any other pathogens in the pool. The chlorine system disperses the chemical directly through a chlorinator or your pool’s filter, which then circulates in your pool water. Pool chlorinators are efficient and don’t require any maintenance to chlorinate your pool.
If you or someone else who is using the pool is sensitive to chlorine, a salt pool system is a better option. Salt is used a disinfectant and the salt system turns this common salt into chlorine. The pool water is sanitized as all bacteria and algae are neutralized. Salt systems are also known as saltwater chlorination systems, salt chlorinators and salt chlorine generators. However, with a salt system you may still need to maintain a proper acid-alkaline balance in your pool water.
